Our team brings over 30 years’ experience in teaching, curriculum development, professional development planning/modeling, professional development delivery, and education leadership and transformation. All our consultants are Google Certified Educators and come with a variety of certifications and experiences to guide any educator through an effective and valuable professional development experience.
Karen Adams, Head of Professional Development
Karen began her career in education teaching 8th grade American History in Spring, Texas. While in Spring ISD for 6 years she also taught 12th grade Government, Economics and Psychology. During her time in the classroom Karen was always interested in educational technology and blended technology into a variety of lessons. While teaching high school, she was very involved the first large scale 1:1 laptop rollout in Spring ISD. She has experience using numerous 21st century classroom devices with students which led her career to instructing teachers on best practices of integrating such technology into instruction. Karen began her career with Promethean in 2007 working as an Education Consultant training teachers on strategies to interact with students using Promethean hardware and software. As her career with Promethean progressed she has had opportunities to lead ActivEducator conferences, keynote district events, and present at various conferences including LACUE, TCEA, ISTE, TASA/TASB, TEPSA, and others. Karen lives in Spring, Texas with her husband Doug and daughter Abigail. Karen enjoys traveling with her family, football (the Dallas Cowboys!), anything Disney, and painting.
Kate Mazzota, Education Consultant
Kate Mazzota is a Promethean Education Consultant residing in New York City. She specializes in secondary education in language arts and reading. She also has a successful background in Response to Intervention and urban populations. Kate's degree is in English and a minor in Professional Education. In 2012, Kate was awarded the Top 30 Teacher of the Year in Duval County, Florida. She has experience teaching grades K-12 but specializes in secondary education particularly in language arts and reading. During her teaching career, Kate also took on roles as her school's Response to Intervention Coordinator, Professional Development Facilitator, Teacher Fund Grant Writer, and other various extra curricular sponsorships. Kate has presented at national and local conferences on behalf of her achievements in the classroom, her school district, and a variety of publishers and technology companies.
Wendy Zuber, M.S. , Education Consultant
Wendy is a former secondary science teacher having taught Chemistry and Physical Science at both the Middle School and High School levels in Georgia and Pennsylvania. Wendy was introduced to interactive technologies while teaching in Pennsylvania and experienced first hand the impact of technology as it quickly transformed her own classroom. Wendy was recognized as a Pennsylvania Keystone Educator in 2007 - identifying her as one of the top 100 educators in PA utilizing technology in teaching and learning. Wendy began working with Promethean in June of 2008 as an Education Consultant and has spent the past 6 years collaboratively working with educators, administrators and innovative educational technology leaders on the effective integration of technology. Wendy is a graduate of Elon University and Georgia Southern University. She currently resides in Kentucky with her husband and two daughters.
Kylee Moose, Education Consultant
After graduating from Kings College in Pennsylvania with a degree in Elementary Education, Kylee began her teaching career at Hapeville Elementary in Fulton County, Georgia. She taught for several years and developed a passion for involving children in the learning process, especially incorporating technology into the classroom. For the past eight years, she has been an Education Consultant with Promethean. Now she has the opportunity to teach educators the importance of integrating technology into the classroom. Having spent time in the classroom as an educator, she is well versed in the areas of curriculum development and technology integration. She is equally skilled in using all of the Promethean components and has spent a great deal of time effectively demonstrating how all of these elements work together to improve instruction. She provides support in the effective implementation of the technology. The primary objective of the Education Consultant is to facilitate and communicate best practices. On a personal note, she is an avid sports fan; loves photography, food, travel, hiking and the North Carolina Tar Heels!
Noel Doglione, Education Consultant
Noel holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Florida State University. She worked with students in both general education classes and at a separate day school for students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities. It was apparent is all settings that technology is what motivated the students and increased their communication, academic, and social skills. Working with Promethean as an Educational Consultant, Noel relates classroom experiences with infusing technology throughout the school day to increase student achievement.
Penny Izquierdo, Education Consultant
Penny Izquierdo has been a professional educator and consultant for almost 25 years. After earning her teaching degree from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, Penny - a military spouse - gained diversified experiences teaching in various states, schools districts, and across grade levels. Highlights of that experience include teaching in a Math, Science, and Technology School of Choice, an At-Risk school for economically disadvantaged students, and an ungraded primary classroom with a focus on “Multi-intelligences”. Prior to accepting her position as a Promethean consultant, she served as a pilot teacher in Stafford, Virginia, tasked with implementing the Promethean technology and software in her classroom. Since 2008, Penny has served as a Promethean Education Consultant. She has been instrumental in assisting many school districts in creating and delivering professional development plans and modules in support of their curriculum and technology standards of learning. She has provided individualized and customized training courses that meet the needs of her customers. Her passion is to provide support to teachers with technology-infused activities and lessons that promote personalized and collaborative learning environments that improve student achievement and engagement.
Kate Cox, Education Consultant
Kate Cox is the Education Consultant for South Florida and the Caribbean and head of the Ignite Conferences. She has her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Florida and is currently working on her Masters in Educational Technology at the University of Arkansas. Kate taught 3rd grade in Orlando, FL before moving overseas and becoming the Director of an orphanage in Tanzania. After this rewarding experience Kate moved to Sydney, NSW, Australia where she was the Director and Systems Coordinator for four pre-schools. Kate is now in her fourth year working for Promethean. Before becoming an Education Consultant Kate worked and managed Promethean’s mobile marketing tour known as the ActivBus. Last year she was proud to win her team’s customer appreciation award.
Matt Barfield, Education Consultant
Matt Barfield graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Elementary Education and worked 9 years in a rural district in NC. After finding a love of working with teachers in his district, Matt ventured outside of his school district and began to work in the professional development field across the Carolinas. For almost five years, Matt has been working with Promethean, Inc. to help teachers integrate instructional technology in the classroom. Matt is a father, a husband, a teacher, an instructional technology integrator, an Apple Distinguished Educator, and a professional development guru for Promethean, Inc. Claudia Nogales, M.Ed., Education Consultant
Claudia Nogales started her career in education as a teacher for the Miami-Dade County Public school system in Florida. There she worked as an elementary school teacher for ten years, working mostly with English Language Learners and Exceptional Students. She has a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Technology and Teacher leadership from the University of Florida. Claudia is passionate about education, and helping others to grow and achieve their potential.
Elizabeth Lazo, Education Consultant
Elizabeth Lazo is an educator with over 17 years of experience at different levels, ranging from early childhood to post-secondary education. She has worked as a Special Educator teacher in the inner city, serving students with special needs in kindergarten through fifth grade. After working as a part-time advisor at Miami Dade College while teaching, Elizabeth was offered a job as a student advisor to first-time college students. Her post-secondary experience also included adjunct professor in the College of Education, Director of Advisement, and Director of Career and Disability Services, which supported college students with disabilities. As an Education Consultant for CompassLearning, an educational software solutions company, she has been able to provide professional development to teachers in Miami-Dade County (the 4th largest school district in the country) Broward County and throughout the United States. She is currently an Education Consultant for Promethean supporting Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Elizabeth holds both a Bachelor and Master in Science degree in Special Education with a concentration in Specific Learning Disabilities. She is doing what she loves the most and that is teaching teachers how to utilize tools that will impact and empower student learning.
Angela Ardoin, Education Consultant
Angela Ardoin has been part of the Education Community for the past 17 years. Prior to joining the Promethean Team, Angela was a classroom teacher at the Elementary and High School levels. Her contributions to Education include Mentoring First Year Teachers, Curriculum Design, I-TEC Model Classroom, LACUE Elementary Teacher of the Year (District, Region and State), Question Design for PRAXIS and Blackboard Course Design. She has showcased her work at educational conferences such as ISTE, ASCD, NSTA, NMSA, NCTM and TCEA. Currently Angela is part of the Educational Consulting department at Promethean where she leads the Content Development team and serves as a trainer.
Jen Klein, M.Ed., Education Consultant
Jen Klein is an Education Consultant native to Seattle, WA. She has enjoyed supporting teachers across the US in integrating technology into their classrooms with Promethean since 2008. Before that she taught elementary school, has a BA in Elementary Ed, and a MEd in Instructional Technology. She has presented at national and local conferences including ISTE, Colorado TIE, NCCE, ASTE, TIE, and many others. Bringing new and exciting ideas to teachers is one of the many exciting parts of being an Education Consultant. Aside from education and technology her passions include enjoying the great outdoors through hiking, biking, and photography.
