Promethean Celebrates AV News Awards Win
February 25, 2015
(Blackburn, 25 February 2015) – Global education technology solutions company Promethean, continues its award success in 2015 following Ian Curtis, Promethean Head of Western Europe, Africa & ANZ, winning Outstanding Achievement in AV at the AV News Awards.
The AV News Awards recognise the contribution made by individuals and teams to the development of the AV business, with special awards to technologists, sales, marketing and support professionals, in addition to those for the companies and organisations which make up the channel. Promethean was also shortlisted in the categories for AV Innovation of the Year and AV Marketing Professional of the Year.
With a background steeped in AV and IT, Ian has been an invaluable member of the Promethean team since he joined in 2008. Prior to this, Ian spent a number of years working for Hewlett Packard, which saw him undertake various senior positions, including working in Cupertino, California, for three years.
During his time at Promethean, Ian has successfully launched the Promethean distribution model in the UK and then extended it across other European regions. Ian has also continually championed the use of AV technology in classrooms across Europe, contributed to the growth of the interactive display market across the region, and promoted the 1:1 student technology model from day one in the UK.
Bryan Denyer, Editor, AV News, commented: “With Ian’s wealth of experience in the AV industry he has really demonstrated a real level of commitment to the channel market. His longstanding career has seen him build lasting channel models and relationships that have been both commercially astute and held the trust of channel partners.
“It was all of these qualities that collectively earned Ian the coveted Outstanding Achievement in AV Award this year.”
Ian Curtis, Head of Western Europe, Africa & ANZ, said: “The award feels like a fantastic achievement, not only for me on a personal level but for the rest of the team here at Promethean too. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them for their valuable support in making the Promethean channel a success.”
The awards were presented at an exclusive breakfast on Tuesday 10th February 2015, to coincide with the opening of the Integrated Systems Europe exhibition and conference in Amsterdam.
