Here at Promethean, we strongly believe that every child should be given the opportunity and support to realise their true potential. While our Modern Classroom solutions help to do this in schools – there are some children who have been much less fortunate with their start in life – and through no fault of their own – have faced struggles which have prevented them from fulfilling their potential.

Since 2014 we have supported children’s charity Barnardo’s in raising funds to support their Care Leavers programme, which aims to help Care Leavers to further develop the life skills they need when living independently – and ultimately go on to realise their potential.

After raising over £20,000 to support the development of a digital platform to engage Care Leavers, which will be available in 2016, Promethean has committed to ongoing fundraising activities – at all levels of the company. For example, throughout 2016 we’ll be running a corporate ActivPanel donation initiative while the UKI marketing team will be leading the charge with a range of innovative (and challenging) escapades… all in the name of raising money for a cause close to our hearts.

In the words of our very own Ian Curtis, Head of Europe, Africa and Australasia, “Barnardo’s aims to transform the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children and believes every child deserves the best start in life and the chance to fulfil their potential. This vision resonates with our own, where we believe no child should be left behind and that education holds the key to realising true potential. We are especially proud to support Barnardo’s in helping Care Leavers to make the step into independent living confidently and successfully.”

Barnardo’s runs more than 900 services in local communities across the UK, working with more than 200,000 disadvantaged and vulnerable children, young people and their families each year. In 2016, Barnardo’s will be celebrating 150 years of transforming children’s lives. Help us to help them make this year a record one for really making a difference.
