Environmentally Friendly – The Promethean ActivBoard has been designed to meet WEEE Directive standards (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive).  Under the WEEE Directive all components of the Promethean ActivBoard can be reused or recycled at the end of its life cycle.  This means nothing goes to waste – not the plastic, metal, or various other electronic components – it is 100% recyclable or reusable. 

Built to Last – The Promethean ActivBoard comes with a 3 year warranty (extended an additional 2 years when installed by a certified Promethean Installer), and is designed to withstand the rigors of day to day use in the classroom.  Since there are no moving parts the board is very durable.  Unlike the soft vinyl surface of touch sensitive boards, which can be easily damaged and rendered inoperable, the hard surface of Promethean’s electromagnetic board is difficult to scratch or puncture, and will keep working, even if damaged.

Handles Humidity:  Many classrooms become hot and humid in the spring and summer months, especially when school is out and the air conditioning isn’t running.  Humidity is accompanied by condensation, which can render resistive technology touch sensitive boards inoperable.  The last thing a school needs is to return the week before classes start and find that all the boards in an entire school need to be replaced.  Promethean chose to avoid this high risk situation by using electromagnetic technology, which is not affected by high humidity and condensation. 

The All-In-One Solution – With the Promethean ActivBoard +2 configuration you get an all in one solution that provides the total Interactive White Board package.  Included in the ActivBoard +2 configuration there is the Promethean ActivBoard, along with a Sanyo PRM-20 Short Throw Projector, Wall Mounting, Speakers, and Promethean’s Award winning software.  This configuration eliminates any need to place a projector in the classroom ceiling, and limits the amount of wiring that is needed to power and control the system.
